Founded in the spring of 2004 the
ADJ Tour was formed by Alex
Clark, Doug Stadler and
John Breig. Soon after the name would be changed to the
BGA Tour to include other golfers that wanted their scores and
stats displayed on the Internet for all to see.
For years Clark, Stadler, Breig and Mike
Radcliff would play golf on Sunday morning. This was the
original foursome before the BGA was organized that started
it all. After Radcliff left town because of a job relocation
there was only Clark, Stadler and Breig left. Playing golf
with three wasn’t the same as with four. In the spring
of 2004 Clark created the ADJ Tour website to keep track of
all there golfing adventures. Once the website was up and
running more people wanted to play.
Eric Gagnon
was the next official member of the tour. Gagnon usually goes
“boating” on Sunday morning, decided to go boating
less so he could participate on the tour. Because of the excitement
of having his name and golfing stats on the Internet, Gagnon
told everyone he know about the tour and before you knew it
there was a new player every week. These new players were
mostly family members or old girlfriends brothers but Gagnon
was recruiting new members every week.
While playing in the “The Pirates Den” golf league
on Wednesday nights, Clark and Breig informed other member
of the league about the website. Before you knew it Mark
Abell and Mike
Burman were playing in their first event The Farm Invitational. Since this event
Abell has been a regular on the tour and now plays every week.
Jack Wilhelmy
joined the tour a few weeks later and was playing every week
until the start of football season.
To include all the new members that have joined the tour
since it’s creation the name was changed in the summer
of 2004 to the BGA Tour (Bad Golfer Association) to represent
the below average golf that most golfers on the tour play.
